Designing Your Own Report Templates

The Track+ task and issue management system comes with a powerful report engine built into the application. This report engine is based on the popular open source JasperReports code. Reports are defined by report templates, and using these report templates output can be generated for a variety of output formats, including PDF, HTML, RTF, OpenOffice, and plain text.

Developing Your Own Dashboard Views

Track+ provides you with a completely configurable „dashboard“. You can place your favorite „dashboard views“ on that page. A dashboard view acts similar to an instrument in a cars dashboard and displays information in a concise manner.

You organize your dashboard page with tabs and panels. Each panel is organized in a number of rows and columns. Dashboard views are placed interactively in a panels rows and columns. Track+ Security Concept

As issue management moves beyond a small team and may even involve customers, it becomes important to ensure confidentiality and prevent unauthorized persons from accessing information they should not be able to obtain. For example, it may not be advisable if customers can see company internal issues or project progress. It may even be desirable to control issue access inside a project team, for example to prevent somebody from just closing an issue that has not been properly reviewed.

This white paper briefly describes the measures taken within Track+ to make sure that at all times only authorized persons can access the information they need to do their work.

Integrating Track+ with CVS

Track+ can link files in a CVS version control repository with issues in the Track+ database. For this Track+ reads the CVS log files on a regular basis and scans for issue numbers in CVS commit messages, like „#4711, #3148“ and so on.

For each project in Track+ you can configure a separate CVS repository that is scanned for these link tags. This paper describes how to link Track+ with a CVS repository via a secure shell connection. Track+ supports other connection types as well, but this method has the advantage that it can be safely used even if the CVS server and the Track+ server are in different domains...
