Trackplus evolves further. The next version, planned to be released beginning of Q3 2012, sets new standards for a web based issuetracking and task management solution. The user interface has been massively redesigned and now offers a look and feel previously only known of well designed desktop applications. There are many new functions, such as:
- Improved navigation, with navigator on the left and content on the right
- Simultaneous edit of several items, either within a single browser window or in separate browser windows or tabs
- Two-stage filtering of tasks and a lot of drag&drop functionality to change item attributes, e.g., to quickly change the status or responsible of a set of tasks
- Filters can be organized in folders
- Projects can be organized hierarchally, to create sub-projects or component projects
- Releases and phases/sprints can be organized hierarchically
- Full support for the "Getting Things Done" method with personal baskets
- Full support for work breakdown structures for perfect project management
- Support for Scrum and Kanban
- New report templates for task- and project management
- Complete customization of user interface w.r.t. terminology and symbols
- Improved support for Git, Subversion, CVS, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, and Eclipse
And this is just the beginning! More features in the planning stage or currently under development for the release after the next one are:
- Improved support for helpdesk applications
- SLAs
- Capacity planning for agile methods
- Mobile version (iPhone, iPad, Android phones)
- Much improved workflow engine
