Manage Item States

You can add new item statuses to the list of available item statuses and change or delete existing ones. For each item type, workspace type, or workspace, you can select which item states are available on the user interface.

You must be logged in as a system manager or system administrator.

Operation states define the position of an item in the workflow. State names are freely selectable.

  • Go to Administration > Customize > Lists > Global Lists > State.

  • You can now modify, add or delete a state. You can assign an icon (16 x 16 px, GIF, SVG or PNG format) to each entry. You can further assign a CSS style to each item, which is used to format items in the Item Navigator. Each state has a type flag. This has the following meaning:

  • Open: “Open” states such as “open”, “analyzed”, “implemented”, etc. The task is not completed, further action is required. Items in open states are shown in most views.

  • Closed: “Closed” states such as “closed” or “suspended”. The task is done, no further action is required, or the item is postponed.

  • Inactive: Obsolete, should no longer be used

  • Locked: Obsolete, should no longer be used

Attention

If you rename an entry, the change may not be visible on the user interface. This happens if you have specific localizations for the selection entries, which is the case for all predefined entries. In this case, the localized values are displayed instead and not the label that you define here.
