Read and Comment on Wiki

You can allow all or specific users to read and comment on Wiki documents. Access control is done via roles with their permissions, which are granted to users for workspaces.

A typical use case for a Wiki is that there are few authors and many readers. To make Wiki documents accessible to everyone, including users who do not have a user account in the system, you should consider the following:

  • There must be a user named “guest”.

  • You must enable “Automatically log in as guest” in the system administration.

  • You must define a role with the permission “read any”.

  • You restrict the item types accessible via this role to those in the Wiki (e.g., document folder, document, document section). Otherwise, the “guest” user would be able to see all items in this workspace, not just Wiki documents.

  • You need to assign this role to the “guest” user for the workspaces that contain the publicly accessible Wiki.

Users known to the system can use the context menu on the respective node in the left navigation tree to comment on entire documents or specific document sections.
