Create Schedule

For the flowchart, add dependencies and dates to the structure plan.

You must have authorization to change items in the project or workspace. You must have activated the license to use the Gantt chart (see Manage Regular Users). Make sure that you are displaying the plan and not the baseline (deselect Settings > Show Baseline).

You can choose between two options for entering the work breakdown structure:

  • In the Task Management perspective, go to Task Management perspective > Task Navigator. Select the Hierarchical view.

  • In the Project Management perspective, go to Project Management perspective > Gantt chart.

  • Go to Project Management perspective > Gantt Chart.

  • In the top left navigation pane, click the workspace or project for which you want to create the flowchart. This will activate the appropriate filter so that the items for the workspace or project in question will also be displayed.

  • First create the dependencies. For an end-to-start relationship, click on the small circle at the end of the bar of the predecessor item in the Gantt chart and drag the mouse pointer to the small circle on the left of the bar of the successor item. Select “is the end point for an MS Project task link” as the link type and “end to start” as the dependency type. You can enforce a time interval (the units are t=day, ft= ??, W=week, M=month). This interval is not removed even when normalizing the schedule (removing all unnecessary delays).

  • You can set the dates by dragging the bars completely so that the start date is correct. Then drag the right end of the bar to the desired end date. You can change the start date, the start and end dates, or just the end date of a task by clicking and dragging either the left end, middle end, or right end of the items. Free days are taken into account. When changing dates of parent tasks, all child tasks will be moved as well. You can use filters to fix the dates of the matching items. For example, you can save all items with dates in the past or completed items against moving (see Prerequisites for Project Planning). You can explicitly fix dates by placing and selecting the task attributes FixedDate or FixedTDDate on the input mask.

You have now entered all the item dependencies and assigned dates to the items.
