Range Status

Over time, there will be a growing number of workspaces in the Allegra database. You can permanently delete workspaces, but it is usually better to change the visibility of out-of-date workspaces via the workspace state.

Each workspace is in a state. The state determines how visible the workspace is.

By default, Allegra provides three range states described in the following table.

State name	Description
running	These workspaces are open to all the functionalities that the system offers. Items can be created and modified without restriction.
stopped	No new items are accepted for these workspaces, and no existing items can be changed. However, all existing information is visible as the workspaces themselves.
archived	These workspaces and their items are invisible to regular users. No new items will be accepted and existing items cannot be be changed.

Switch to “Administration”. In the main menu, select Customize > System States > Range State. You can change the names and the meaning of these states and add new states.

Each state has a “type flag” that determines the availability of a workspace. The values and logic for each type flag are described in the following table.

Type	Description
active	Workspaces with this state type flag are not restricted in any way. Items can be created and modified without any restrictions.
locked	In workspaces with this state type flag, no new items can be created and existing items cannot be modified. However, all the information remains visible.
completed	Workspaces with this state type flag are invisible to regular users. Also, they do not accept new items and do not allow for existing items to be changed.

Attention

Changing the workspace state may make the workspace inaccessible to regular users.
